Tear Jerker

Hey guys! If you don't feel anything after reading the lyrics from this song then...you don't have a heart! Just kidding. I just think they're super moving.

Her parents never took the young girl to church
Never spoke of His name
Never read her His word
Two non-believers walking lost in this world
Took their baby with them
What a sad little girl

Her daddy drank all day and mommy did drugs
Never wanted to play
Or give kisses and hugs
She'd watch the TV and sit there on the couch
While her mom fell asleep
And her daddy went out

And the drinking and the fighting
just got worse every night
Behind their couch she'd be hiding
Oh what a sad little life
And like it always does, the bad just got worse
With every slap and every curse
Until her daddy in a drunk rage one night
Used a gun on her mom and then took his life

And some people from the city took the girl far away
To a new mom and a new dad
Kisses and hugs everyday
Her first day of Sunday school the teacher walked in
And a small little girl
Stared a picture of Him

She said I know that man up there on that cross
I don't know His name
But I know He got off
He was there in my old house
and held me close to His side
As I hid there behind our couch
The night that my parents died

John 19 (The Message)

So Pilate took Jesus and had him whipped. The soldiers, having braided a crown from thorns, set it on his head, threw a purple robe over him, and approached him with, "Hail the King of the Jews!" Then they greeted him with slaps in the face. Pilate went back out again and said to them, "I present him to you, but I want you to know that I do not find him guilty of any crime." Just then Jesus came out wearing the crown and purple robe.
Pilate announced, "Here he is: The Man."
When the high preists and police saw him, they shouted in a frenzy, "Crucify! Crucify!"
Pilate told them, "You take him. You crucify him. I find nothing wrong with him."
The Jews answered, "We have a law, and by that law he must die because he claimed to be the son of God."
He sat down at the judgement seat in the area designated Stone Court. It was the preparation day for Passover. The hour was noon. Pilate said to the Jews, "Here is your king."
They shouted back "Kill him! Kill him! Crucify him!"
Pilate said, "I am to crucify your king?"
The high priests answered "We have no king but Caesar."
Pilate caved in to their demand. He turned him over to be crucified.

They took Jesus away. Carrying his cross, Jesus went out to the place called Skull Hill (Golgothat in Hebrew), where they crucified him, and with two others one on each side, Jesus in the middle. Pilate wrote a sign and had it placed on the cross. It read:

A jug of sour wine was standing by. Someone put a sponge soaked with the wine on a javelin and lifted it to his mouth. After he took the wine, Jesus said, "It is finished." Bowing his head, he offered up his spirit.

Hey all, if you are wondering...

Barbeque starts at 5 PM at the Griffith's. You are free to leave whenever, but we'll kick you all out at some point. Feel free to bring your family or friends. Everyone's welcome. Bring your swimsuit if you want to swim in the pond. That's about it...I may ask some of you to bring a bag of chips, or some drinks or something...just to give you a heads up. Hey Graduates!!!

Just wanted to say congrat's and I'm proud of all of you guys. You guys all rock, and it's been more than a priveledge getting to know you guys so well. I love you all dearly, and I know that God does even more so. I'm glad some of you will be around, and sad to see some of you leave, but I know that God has good things in store for those who love Him, and I believe that He has wonderful things planned for each one of you. Peace out, and here's to a sweet summer!! CHEERS!

...and sorry to wake you up so early...but you're all so cute when you're sleepy and angry...

Here's a verse out of "The Message" not really relating to anything in particular...
Amos 5:4-6
Seek me and live. Don't fool around at those shrines of Bethel. Don't waste time taking trips to Gilgal, and don't bother going down to Beer-Sheba. Gilgal is here today and gone tomorrow and Bethel is all show, no substance.
So seek God and live! You don't want to end up with nothing to show for your life but a pile of ahses, a house burned to the ground. For God will send just such fire, and the firefighters will show up too late.

wisdom is good, right?

what up y'all? i'm good, here's some insight into life for you guys.

7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. 8 Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching. 9 They will be a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.

10 My son, if sinners entice you, do not give in to them. 11 If they say, "Come along with us; let's lie in wait for someone's blood, let's waylay some harmless soul; 12 let's swallow them alive, like the grave, and whole, like those who go down to the pit; 13 we will get all sorts of valuable things and fill our houses with plunder; 14 throw in your lot with us, and we will share a common purse"-- 15 my son, do not go along with them, do not set foot on their paths; 16 for their feet rush into sin, they are swift to shed blood. 17 How useless to spread a net in full view of all the birds! 18 These men lie in wait for their own blood; they waylay only themselves! 19 Such is the end of all who go after ill-gotten gain; it takes away the lives of those who get it.
